Weeks of Welcome

Weeks of Welcome (WOW) is a large series of programs coordinated by University Programs to help over 8000 first year and transfer students in their transition to academic and student life at the Capstone. These events are free and open to all UA students and serve as the university’s official welcome back to campus each fall semester. The only exception is Script A which is a tradition reserved for our new incoming students. Make sure you follow us on Instagram, X and Facebook so you don’t miss out on any important updates.
Each day of Weeks of Welcome features key events designed to meet the diverse interests of UA students. Taking full advantage of WOW will help you get the best start at the University of Alabama! No matter your relation to The University of Alabama, we want to help you find a way to get involved with Weeks of Welcome.
Tied with the Tide
In conjunction with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Tied with the Tide is a program for all students participating in early move in due to various activities to build community and learn about various resources at the Capstone.

Tailgates and Watch Parties

Every Saturday, get ready for the ultimate University of Alabama football tailgate or watch party! We’ll start the day with great food, free water and soda, and pre-game festivities, all leading up to the big game. Gather with fellow Crimson Tide fans to enjoy music, games, and an unbeatable team spirit as we cheer Bama on to victory. Don’t miss out—this weekly tradition is the perfect way to get game day started right. Roll Tide!
Halloweek
Halloweek is a series of events filled with festive energy, spooky excitement, and a strong sense of community. Throughout the week, students can look forward to engaging activities like a scary movie night and a fall festival, each designed to bring people together and celebrate the season. Whether you're a fan of all things eerie or simply enjoy the autumn atmosphere, Halloweek offers something for everyone. It's the perfect way to take a break, connect with others, and make lasting memories.

Fall Stress Free Days

During Study Week (the week before finals), University Programs partners with the Counseling Center to offer a variety of events designed to help students de-stress and stay balanced while preparing for exams. From DIY activities and yoga classes to free food, students can take a break and recharge amidst their busy schedules. Each event has a unique theme, creating a relaxing environment that encourages well-being.
